Sunday Art Chat IV

February 22, 2009

Here is some art by Boo Davis.

Boo Davis is a designer, illustrator and quiltmaker living in Seattle. She spent much of her youth cozied up under her grandmother’s quilt listening to Ozzy. As a grown-up metalhead and design geek, the intersection of cute and evil is what she finds most compelling.

Some of her quilts:

And some of her illustrations:

I love her fun little style. Makes me wanna have fun. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Have fun this week,

i like it! subject matter, color, multi media guff, cartoon stylizedness, quilted sarcasm, all of it.

I have a family friend who lives in OKC/Norman that is the president of her quilting guild. Quilts are amazing! I especially love the multi-colored one–the one entitled, Damaged. It looks so cool. All I really know about quilting is that it can be very time-consuming. But I think in the end, it is totally worth it.

i’m glad y’all likey likey. quilts are, to me, the red-headed step children of the arts world: just as cool, but they get no love.

    I want Skullfucked.

And Super Virgin makes me laugh.
